Protein Sugar Cookies

  • 1/3 cup butter softened to room temperature
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 3/4 cup sugar divided
  • 1/2 cup Stevia zero calorie sweetener
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 scoops (50 grams) vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 24 Hershey’s Sugar Cookie Kisses


  • In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, cream butter until smooth.
  • Add applesauce, 1/2 cup sugar, stevia, eggs and vanilla; mix until well combined.
  • Add flour protein powder and salt and mix until combined.
  • Refrigerate cookie dough for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls and roll in remaining 1/4 cup sugar then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Use a glass to flatten cookies to 1/2-inch thick.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and place a Hershey’s Kiss on top of each cookie.
  • Return to the oven for 1 more minute.
  • Remove from oven and spread each Hershey’s Kiss in an even layer on top of each cookie.
  • Let set up before serving.
