Slow Cooker Beef Bolognese

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds 92% lean ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 (28 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes crushed
  • 1 Tablespoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  • Add ground beef and diced onion to a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook, breaking up, until browned and onion is tender. Add garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Drain excess grease and transfer meat to a 6- quart slow cooker.
  • Add remaining ingredients to the slow cooker and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  • Remove bay leaves and stir to combine. Serve over pasta or as desired.

Notes

Serve over: Pasta, zucchini noodles, spaghetti squash noodles, etc. (not included in nutrition information)
