Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until tender. Add garlic and sauté for 1 additional minute.
Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt and pepper to the skillet. Stir until combined, cover and let simmer for 10 minutes.
While sauce is simmering, combine all meatball ingredients in a large bowl until fully incorporated. Form mixture into 30 1-inch meatballs (approximately 0.9 ounces) each. Gently place meatballs in the tomato sauce and simmer, uncovered, over low heat for 15 minutes.
Turn meatballs over using a spoon or tongs and let simmer an additional 10 minutes or until cooked through. Serve over pasta, on a bun, etc. as desired (log separately).
